Amitabha Buddha Tibetan Thangka Painting – Original Hand-Painted Masterpiece
This is an original hand-painted Amitabha Buddha Thangka, beautifully framed in high-quality silk brocade. Amitabha, known as the Buddha of Infinite Light, is praised in the Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life as the greatest among Buddhas. Buddha Shakyamuni said that the brilliance of Amitabha’s light is so vast that even praising it day and night for an entire Kalpa would not be enough to describe it fully.
Amitabha Buddha lives in a pure celestial realm that he created through countless lifetimes of good deeds and compassion. His radiant light is said to remove suffering and cleanse negative karma. Anyone who has faith in Amitabha and remembers him at the end of life is believed to be reborn in his Pure Land, a place of peace and spiritual growth, where beings move toward liberation.
In this Thangka, Amitabha is shown in the Dhyana Mudra, the gesture of deep meditation. His palms rest upward in his lap. The right hand symbolizes enlightenment, while the left represents the world of appearance. Together, they show his perfect mastery and wisdom. In many depictions, Amitabha also holds a monk’s begging bowl filled with amrita, the nectar of immortality. This symbolizes his compassion and his wish to help all beings.
This artwork is hand-painted on traditional cotton canvas using gold dust, natural pigments, and Tibetan hide-glue colors. The silk brocade frame adds beauty, protection, and cultural authenticity.
