This is an original, hand-painted Tibetan Thangka of Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. It is painted in the rare and refined Karma Gadri style and blessed by a lama.

Karma Gadri is a special Tibetan painting tradition known for clean lines, open space, fine detail, and balanced color. This style began with the 8th Karmapa, Mikyo Dorje, a great meditation master. Paintings in this style feel calm, clear, and deeply spiritual.

Chenrezig, also called Avalokiteshvara, is the living compassion of all Buddhas. He protects the world between the time of Buddha Shakyamuni and the future Buddha Maitreya. He is the patron Bodhisattva of Tibet and is closely linked to the mantra “OM MANI PADME HUM.” He vowed never to rest until all beings are free from suffering.

In this painting, Chenrezig appears with four arms. His two main hands rest at his heart, holding the wish-fulfilling jewel. This jewel stands for enlightenment and pure intention. His right upper hand holds a crystal rosary, symbolizing constant compassionate action. His upper left hand holds a blooming lotus, symbolizing purity rising above suffering.

A deer’s skin rests over his shoulder. This shows renunciation and deep kindness. It also recalls the story of Chenrezig offering his own life as a deer out of compassion for others.

The Thangka is painted on handmade cotton canvas using natural colors, gold, water-based pigments, and traditional Tibetan hide glue. Every detail is painted by hand with care and devotion.
