This is an authentic hand-painted Thangka of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) — one of the most beloved and revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism — beautifully framed with high-quality silk brocade.

Buddhism was first introduced to Tibet in the 8th century when King Trisong Detsen invited the Indian master Santaraksita to teach the Dharma. When obstacles arose during the construction of the first monastery, the King sought the help of Guru Padmasambhava, known for his miraculous powers. Guru Padmasambhava subdued the mountain spirits and bound them to protect the Dharma, paving the way for the flourishing of Buddhism in Tibet.

Born miraculously from a lotus in Oddiyana, Guru Rinpoche is regarded as an emanation of Buddha Amitabha. He introduced Tantric Buddhism in Tibet, gave profound teachings, and concealed spiritual treasures for future generations. Guru Rinpoche is believed to still dwell in a state of spontaneous presence, blessing and guiding practitioners with compassion and power.

His Thangka serves as a powerful symbol of protection, blessing, and spiritual awakening — cherished by practitioners of the Nyingma lineage and beyond.
