This is an original hand-painted Shakyamuni or Gautama Buddha Thangka painting with a premium silk brocade frame. Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the Buddha of our present time. He is the root teacher of all Buddhist traditions. Born as a crown prince in the Shakya kingdom of southern Nepal, he left his royal life in search of the truth behind suffering. Through great courage, wisdom, and compassion, he attained full enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. His teachings continue to inspire and guide people around the world.

In this painting, the Buddha is shown touching the earth with his right hand in the Bhumisparsha Mudra. This gesture represents his victory over the temptations and illusions created by the demon Mara. His left hand rests in his lap in the Dhyana Mudra, symbolizing deep meditation. In some depictions, the Buddha holds a monk’s begging bowl that contains three precious nectars, showing that he has conquered the demons of death, delusion, and the suffering of human existence. This posture is known as “Buddha Shakyamuni Conquering the Demons,” marking the moment of complete enlightenment.
