This authentic hand-painted oil-varnished Thangka Painting features Lord Shiva, also known as Shankar, Mahadeva, or Maheshwar, along with silk brocade. Lord Shiva is one of the primary deities in Hinduism and is believed to be the god of death and time. He is called "The Destroyer" within the Trinity/Trimurti, the triple deity of supreme divinity that includes Brahma and Vishnu. In the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism, Shiva is considered the Supreme Lord who creates, protects, and transforms the universe.
The painting is varnished with oil for protection and visual appeal and beautifully framed with silk brocade. The Brocade, however, is newly made.
