Hand-Painted Vajrakilaya Thangka with Consort - Wrathful Tibetan Buddhist Deity Phurba Dagger - Nyingma Tantric Art
This is a master-quality hand-painted Tibetan thangka of Vajrakilaya. He is a strong, angry-looking deity from the Nyingma school. His job is to clear away obstacles, beat back destructive forces, and clear the path to wisdom.
Vajrakilaya stands for the power of all Buddhas. He holds a special dagger called a phurba. This dagger cuts through wrong ideas like hate, not knowing, and wanting too much.
He has three heads, six arms, and four legs. In his right hand, he hugs his consort, Khorlo Gyedunma, and holds the phurba.
His other hands hold powerful tools such as vajras, a flaming jewel, and a trident.
He wears the skins of animals and people. These show he has let go of ego, hate, and wrong thoughts.
A string of heads around his neck means he sees past normal looks. His consort holds a cup full of special liquid. She stands for joy and winning over death. They stand together in a strong pose, with fire all around, burning away evil thoughts.
This art comes from teachings given long ago to help spread Buddhism in Tibet.
Great for deep practice, protection, or your meditation space. It brings strong energy to remove problems.
