This hand-painted Tibetan Thangka Painting of Vajrapani, embellished with silk brocade, is an impressive masterpiece. Vajrapani is one of the Eight Heart Sons of Shakyamuni Buddha, an ancient Dharmapala of Mahayana Buddhism who guides and protects Gautama Buddha. He is commonly depicted in a wrathful form as Guhyapati, ‘the Lord of Secrets.‘ Additionally, Vajrapani is the primary guardian of all the Tantra teachings that Shakyamuni Buddha received. It‘s fascinating to know the significance of this art piece.
