Yellow Dzambhala, also known as Kubera, is a revered deity. He is mainly celebrated as the bestower of wealth and abundance upon devout Dharma practitioners. Dzambhala's significance is recognizing the interplay between material prosperity and spiritual attainment. He seeks to alleviate the obstacle of poverty, enabling individuals to pursue spiritual realization without being burdened by material constraints.
Legend has it that malevolent forces attempted to disturb and confuse the enlightened teacher during one of Shakyamuni Buddha's teachings. At that moment, Dzambhala manifested before the Buddha and safeguarded him from the disruptive entities. Touched by Dzambhala's valiant intervention, Shakyamuni Buddha extended an invitation for him to become a Dharma Protector, dedicated to aiding all sentient beings. Since accepting this sacred role, Dzambhala has been known to provide immediate assistance to those who invoke his name or chant his mantra.
Yellow Dzambhala's blessings encompass a spectrum of virtues, including good luck, increased virtues, prolonged life, heightened intelligence, and a dual bestowal of material and spiritual benefits. In artistic representations, Yellow Dzambhala is seated regally on a throne, adorned with a crown, silk garments, and opulent gold and jeweled ornaments. He holds a Citron fruit in one hand, while in the other, he cradles a mongoose. The mongoose, a symbol of victory over nagas, continuously releases precious jewels and treasures, reinforcing Dzambhala's role as a divine source of prosperity.
