Simhamukha Vajrayogini – Original Hand-Painted Tibetan Thangka (Lion-Faced Dakini)
This is an original hand-painted Tibetan Thangka featuring Simhamukhi / Simhamukha Vajrayogini, also known as the Lion-Faced Dakini, a powerful wisdom goddess in Vajrayana Buddhism. She appears in a fierce form not to harm beings, but to subdue negativity, cut through illusions, and remove obstacles on the spiritual path.

About the Deity
Simhamukha has the body of a dakini and the face of a white lion with three bright yellow eyes, symbolizing her ability to see past, present, and future. Her black body represents ultimate emptiness.
She raises a Kartika (curved knife) in her right hand and holds a skull cup filled with blood close to her heart with her left hand — symbols of cutting ego and transforming ignorance into wisdom.
She carries a Khatvanga staff against her shoulder, the sign of her inseparable union with wisdom. Her tiger-skin skirt, red scarf, bone ornaments, elephant skin, long snake, and garland of fifty severed heads all represent her power to overcome opposing forces and attachments.
Simhamukha stands in a dynamic posture, one leg raised, trampling a double triangle, a corpse, and a sun-and-lotus seat, expressing complete victory over delusion. Blazing flames of pristine awareness surround her.

Despite her fierce appearance, Simhamukha is a Jnana Dakini — a wisdom deity, revered for her ability to protect practitioners, remove obstacles, and purify inner and outer negativity.
