HAND PAINTED 1000 ARMED AVALOKITESHVARA THANGKA SAHASRABHUJA CHENREZIG OLD SMOKY ART

This is an original hand-painted Tibetan Thangka of Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara, also known as Chenrezig or Sahasrabhuja. The painting has a semi-old, smoky finish, giving it a deep, sacred, and antique look. It is created on handmade cotton canvas using traditional methods.

Chenrezig is the Bodhisattva of compassion. He represents the endless kindness and mercy of all Buddhas. In Mahayana Buddhism, he has vowed to remain in the world until all beings are free from suffering. His name means “the one who hears the cries of the world,” underscoring his deep care for all living beings.

In this thangka, Chenrezig is shown with eleven heads and one thousand arms. Each hand has an eye, symbolizing his ability to see suffering everywhere and to help all beings at once. The many arms show his tireless action. The eyes show wisdom and awareness. He holds sacred objects such as the white lotus, which symbolizes purity, and the mala, which signifies his constant practice and dedication.

Chenrezig is closely linked with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum. This mantra is recited for compassion, protection, and inner peace. Meditating on this image helps develop kindness, patience, and a calm mind.

This thangka is ideal for meditation rooms, home altars, temples, or serious collectors. It is not a print. Every detail is painted by hand with care and devotion.
