This is an original hand-painted Guru Padmasambhava Thangka created in the refined Karma Gadri style, known for its open landscapes, soft backgrounds, and balanced composition. This masterwork of art reflects both spiritual depth and classical Himalayan artistry.
Guru Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche (Precious Master), was the great tantric master who firmly established Buddhism in Tibet in the 8th century. Invited by King Trisong Detsen, he subdued negative forces that were obstructing the building of Tibet’s first monastery. Through wisdom and spiritual power, he bound these forces to protect the Dharma.
He was miraculously born from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana and is regarded as an emanation of enlightened compassion and power. His teachings laid the foundation for Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet.
