The artwork features 21 small Green Taras surrounding the central figure of Green Tara, which is prominently positioned at the center. The painting is exquisite, created with gold and natural colors.

The 21 Tara Thangka represents the various manifestations of the female Buddha, Green Tara. Each of the 21 primary emanations performs different activities, such as pacification and increase. The other colors of these 21 Taras correspond to the four types of enlightened activity.

Tara is the female Buddha representing enlightened activity, which has four types: pacifying, increasing, overpowering, and wrathful. A different color represents each of these types.

White symbolizes the enlightened activity of pacifying, such as overcoming illness, preventing untimely death, and removing obstacles to success in one’s life or practice.

Yellow represents the enlightened activity of cultivating positive qualities that foster a long life, peace, happiness, and success in one’s Dharma practice.

Red signifies the enlightened activity of power, which involves overcoming external forces that cannot be managed through pacifying or cultivating activities. This includes removing obstacles related to sickness and untimely death, as well as forcefully creating favorable conditions for one’s Dharma practice.

Black represents the enlightened activity of wrath, which entails using forceful methods to achieve goals for enlightened purposes that cannot be accomplished through other means.
