This is an oil-varnished old Sri Yantra or Shri Chakra traditional Newari Paubha or Pauva painting. The Shri Yantra, or Sri Chakra, is a form of a mystical diagram. It consists of nine interlocking triangles. These triangles represent the cosmos and the human body—the source of all energy, power, and creativity. Hanging the Sri Yantra Mandala on the wall of your house believes in bringing wealth and overall prosperity. Pauva is a traditional painting of the Newar communities, the original dwellers of Kathmandu Valley. Paubhas are mainly religious paintings depicting deities, mandalas, or monuments and are the object of meditation. The Parvas are similar to Tibetan Thangkas.
