1000 Armed Avalokiteshvara Thangka Hand Painted Tibetan Buddhist Art with Silk Brocade Option
This is an original, hand-painted Tibetan Thangka of Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara, also known as Chenrezig. He is the Bodhisattva of Compassion and one of the most loved figures in Buddhism.
Avalokiteshvara represents endless kindness and the wish to help all beings. In this form, he refuses to enter nirvana until all suffering is removed. This image stands for deep compassion, mercy, and protection.
He is shown with eleven faces and one thousand arms. The many faces allow him to hear the cries of the world. The many arms help him reach and protect all beings. Each hand has an eye in the palm, showing wisdom joined with action. His main hands rest at his heart in prayer. Other hands hold sacred objects such as a rosary, a lotus, a wheel, a bow and arrow, and a water pot. The face of Amitabha Buddha appears at the top, showing his spiritual source.
The powerful mantra “OM MANI PADME HUM” is closely linked to Avalokiteshvara and is believed to bring peace, healing, and compassion.
This Thangka is painted on handmade cotton canvas using gold dust and natural stone powders. It is mounted with traditional silk brocade and is ready to hang.
