This is an original, hand-painted Kurukulla Thangka Painting, a rare and finely detailed masterpiece of Tibetan Buddhist and Newari Paubha art.

Kurukulla (Kurukulle) is a semi-wrathful meditational deity in Tibetan Buddhism—known as the Goddess of Magnetization and Enchantment. She embodies knowledge, magic, and the power to attract and transform. Closely related to Shri Yantra in Hinduism, Kurukulla is often seen as an emanation of Amitabha Buddha, a form of Tara, or a transformation of Heruka.

She is traditionally depicted red in color, with four arms—holding a flower bow and arrow in one pair of hands and a hook and noose of flowers in the other. She stands in a dynamic dakini dance pose, subduing Rahu, the asura who devours the sun. This symbolism reflects her ability to conquer obstacles and negative forces.

Her sacred mantra is:
“Oṁ Kurukulle Hrīḥ Svāhā.”
