Large Wheel of Life Thangka - Hand-Painted Bhavachakra Samsara Mandala Tibetan Buddhist Art
This is a top-quality hand-painted Tibetan thangka of the Wheel of Life. It is also called Bhavachakra. The painting depicts the Buddhist cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Every part has deep meaning.
A scary figure named Yama holds the wheel. He is the lord of death. This reminds us that nothing lasts forever.
In the center are three animals: a pig for not knowing the truth, a rooster for wanting too much, and a snake for anger. These keep us stuck in the cycle.
The next ring shows karma. Good actions lead up. Bad actions lead down.
Then come six worlds:
God's world: full of fun, but it ends.
Demi-god world: lots of jealousy and fights.
Human world: best for learning how to get free.
Animal world: fear and just trying to stay alive.
Hungry ghost world: always wanting, never happy.
Hell world: immense pain from hate.
The outer ring has twelve steps. They show how one thing leads to another and keeps the cycle going.
Outside the wheel is the moon for freedom. The Buddha points to it. This means we can escape the cycle with wisdom.
Made by skilled artists in Nepal using old ways. Colors come from natural stones and pigments for long life.
Great for meditation, teaching, or your home. It helps you think about life and how to find peace.
